The phenomenal growth of the IT-BPO industry has served to bode well for the country in terms of education. It has established itself as a strong talent base for Financial and Accounting services due to its growing pool of accountants - the largest pool of UK qualified CIMA's outside of the UK.
The country's expertise in F&A stems from it's major professional accounting bodies including Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA-UK) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK).
In addition, the country hosts more than 15 tertiary educational organizations, including private and state universities offering extensive accounting courses. Since 2007, the country's accountants have been growing at an annual pace of 7%, producing around 30,000 certified accounting professionals in 2011.
